Who is Adam Zaruba?

I grew up in North Vancouver and have played sports my whole life. Snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, soccer, rugby, football and baseball to name a few. I didn’t start pursuing sports competitively until I was 16 when I moved to Carson Graham Secondary and was exposed to sports at a different level. Since that moment, sports and activity has been a pillar of my life and provided me with so much opportunity. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to make a career out of sports for the last 10 years, being a National Athlete since 2012 and having a brief year to explore options in the NFL.

“No matter what your starting point is, Adam will surely advance your fitness and take your well-being to the next level.”

- Lauren Thomson - Owner / Shine Cafe

Through it all, I always come back to the incredible support I have been shown by my teammates, coaches, community, friends, family, and anyone who has followed my story. I wouldn’t be who I am and wouldn’t have done what I was able to do without it. The ultimate goal of mine was to be an Olympian, and it was something that was knocking at the door.. but it never came to pass. After we qualified for Tokyo 2021, I tore my ACL at a very inopportune moment and that marked the end of my opportunity to achieve my goal. I retired in August of 2021 with a heavy heart and a wide open world of direction to take after being so intensely focused on being the best athlete I could be. I set out to achieve new lofty goals and start my next chapter, and as I’ve always been drawn to helping people, I made the decision to do just that with what I do best.

“My approach is personal, it’s caring , understanding, and seeks to build you an unshakeable and resilient foundation for which you build skills and processes to apply to all parts of your life.”

I’ve experienced the highs and lows of sport, the highs of achievement and success.. and the lows of disappointment and failure. I’ve been on top of the world and felt like nothing could touch me, and I’ve been down in the ditch with anxiety having to crawl inch by inch to make it back out. It is this experience that gives me the tools to help you learn how to overcome any obstacle and achieve your physical goals, as well as apply the same mindset to your personal and professional life and become the person that you want to be.

“Adam's background as a professional athlete shows in his training, he understands how the human body works and has a wealth of exercises designed to target any of your fitness goals.”
